St. Edward the Confessor
Jesus said, “ Woe to you, scholars of the law! You have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter." When he left, the scribes and Pharisees began to act with hostility toward him and to interrogate him about many things, for they were plotting to catch him at something he might say (Luke 11: 52-54).
Christ showed a tremendous amount of courage in dealing with the Pharisees. They were powerful and influential people in His day and many of them just did not want to listen to Him. But this never stopped Him. He knew what God wanted of Him and He did it. He gave no excuses.
Lord Jesus, I love the courage You lived with. I want to live like You.
