St. Seraphin of Montegranaro
Jesus said, “Woe to you Pharisees! You pay tithes of mint and of rue and of every garden herb, but you pay no attention to judgment and to love for God. These you should have done, without overlooking the others” (Luke 11: 42).
Jesus wants us to act with a pure intention. Why do we do certain things? For personal glory and the attention of others? To impress others? Or do we serve others because we want to imitate Christ’s example and please Him? Life is too short to waste it living for personal gain.
Heavenly Father, help me to understand how short life is and that eternity never ends.
