St. Benedict
Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me” (Matthew 10: 37-40).
The more we look for own selfish pleasure, in the end the less we find it, because we cannot fill ourselves. Our souls are made for God so only God can truly make us happy for all eternity. Don’t waste your time or your life seeking yourself. The more you serve God – the happier you will be.
Lord, I know that You are never outdone in generosity. I trust in You.
