St. John I
John said to Jesus, "Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us." Jesus replied, "Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us” (Mark 9: 38-40).
Do you ever place your practice or game in the Lord’s hands? This is a “mighty deed”. Prayer and virtue = strength and they are ways to drive out demons. Drugs, steroids, lies and selfishness = weakness and they only drive us further away from our eternal goal: Heaven.
Lord Jesus, I want to be a leader who influences others to do what is good and true.
Impact Sports: Do I ever blame or complain about my teammates?
Impact Life: Have I realized that leaders know how to use their will to achieve their goals?
