And all were astonished by the majesty of God. While they were all amazed at Jesus’ every deed, he said to his disciples, "Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men." But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying  (Luke 9: 43-45).

It is very hard to understand why God had to suffer so much for us. But look how inspiring He is. When we look at the Crucifix and see what Jesus was willing to do to show us His love, our hearts are moved, changed, transformed. This is the wisdom of God.

Lord Jesus, enable me to get a crucifix so I may see You every day and remember how much You suffered out of love for me.
