St. Germaine Cousin
Jesus said to his disciples, "(But) take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father. When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward” (Matthew 6: 1-2).
The best way to begin living this Gospel is to look for little opportunities to serve others when no one is around – like cleaning out the dishwasher when everyone is watching TV, or organizing your room, or cleaning out the car, etc. You can do it!
Mary, you were always serving others without looking for praise. Help me to do the same.
