St. Luke, The Evangelist

After this the Lord appointed seventy (-two) others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Luke 10: 1-2).

Priests, Nuns and those who dedicate their whole lives to serving God are heroes. They are among the most courageous people on earth because it is easy to be virtuous for a day or two but to devote your whole life to serving others? Let us pray daily for these modern day heroes.

Lord God, please bless all those who have totally dedicated their lives to Your service. Thank You, Lord, for their lives and their example.
